FC Nurnberg went the first of the 2013/14 Bundesliga season without a victory.
The Franconian club had failed to win in 17 league outings before the midseason break but have returned in 2014 with two wins from two fixtures.
That form has seen der Club move out of the relegation zone and Japanese midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake says it is nice to now be getting the luck that deserted them from August to December.
However, Kiyotake was not getting carried away as their 3-1 win at Hertha Berlin on the weekend could have been better.
"We didn't play good football in the first half and it didn't get much better after the break," he said.
"The only difference is that we're scoring now, which we weren't doing before. This year we're just getting the rub of the green."
And Kiyotake reflected on the clash with Hertha which saw him pitted against fellow Blue Samurai star Hajime Hosogai.
"As I expected, Hajime was man-marking me and making my life really difficult," the Nurnberg playmaker added.
"I knew he'd try to stop me getting the ball in the first place so when I did get it, I was just looking to move it along as quickly as possible."
