Kiyotake confident of Nurnberg survival under Verbeek

Hiroshi Kiyotake believes FC Nurnberg will remain in the German Bundesliga next season.

The Franconian outfit currently sits second bottom in the standings but Japanese midfielder Kiyotake believes they have the ability to get out of the drop zone.

Four losses in a row has Nurnberg two points from safety but Kiyotake is keeping the faith under manager Gertjan Verbeek who arrived at the beginning of the season.

"I think we can do much more. And if you look at where we are in the standings, we have to step things up in order to perform better," he told Bundesliga.com.

"He (Verbeek) knows how to motivate the players. He communicates really well. I like the offensive system.

"He's the kind of coach I like. I always wanted to work with a coach like him and I also think he is the ideal man for the club.

"I believe we will stay in the top flight."

Nurnberg were beaten 5-2 by Eintracht Frankfurt on the weekend with Kiyotake subbed off at half-time in his 26th league appearance this season.
