Kiwi international McGlinchey to make most of Motherwell loan

Former Celtic trainee, Michael McGlinchey is desperate to prove his doubters wrong and make his second spell in Scotland a successful one. The New Zealand international is currently on loan with Motherwell from A-League's Central Coast Mariners until the end of the season as he prepares himself for the World Cup finals in June.

"When I left Celtic last summer I was desperate to prove myself and I had to go all the way to Australia to do that," the 23 year old told the Daily Record.

"I thank Mariners for giving me the chance and allowing me to get this deal with Motherwell sorted out.

"It's amazing that I find myself back in Scotland so soon after leaving last summer."

The former Scotland youth international admitted he lacked confidence during his forgettable spell at Parkhead.

"I've had my confidence lifted by playing for a manager who believes in me and hopefully I can bring that confidence to Motherwell. My first game is against Rangers at Fir Park and I can't wait to get started," McGlinchey added.

"Coming to Scotland during the Australian close-season is the perfect way for me to try to keep my career moving along."
