Kiwi ace Wood helps keep Leicester playoff hopes alive

Chris Wood was on target for Leicester City as they kept their hopes of a top-six Championship finish alive.

The 21-year old New Zealand striker netted an equaliser in the 73rd minute as the Foxes held Crystal Palace to a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday to keep them in seventh spot on the tier two table.

Andy King scored either side of Danny Gabbidon and Stephen Dobbie as Palace twice led by Wood helped bank a single point by pouncing on a defensive error before firing home past Julian Speroni.

Former West Bromwich Albion youngster Wood netted his ninth goal in 18 league outings since arriving at the King Power Stadium in January, taking his season tally to 20 after he scored 11 times in loan for Millwall.
