Reading boast the best strike-force, pound-for-pound, in the world, says Dave Kitson.
Kitson believes himself, Leroy Lita, Kevin Doyle and Shane Long are the best value strikers on the planet.
Kitson, who cost just £150,000 from Cambridge, said: "When you look at the money being splashed around it's ridiculous.
"Fernando Torres has just gone to Liverpool for £24million, Man United have signed Nani and Andersen for lots of cash and Darren Bent's gone to Spurs for £16.5million.
"This is what you are up against in this league. We can't afford to compete with that. What we can do is find players of equal calibre for prices that the board are willing to spend.
"It's not that they perhaps have the money. Leroy cost £1million, so our strikeforce is under £1.5million for four Premiership-class strikers.
"That is why Reading was such a great club to come to for all of us because it gave us a chance. Pound for pound the greatest strikers in the world!
"It is phenomenal. It's not just the strikers, though. Our back four is under £1.5million, our centre midfield is probably a couple of million pounds."
