Kisnorbo sees Leeds United move as World Cup stepping stone

Patrick Kisnorbo is hoping his move to Leeds United will be a stepping stone to his Socceroos resurrection. The former Leicester City captain has endured a torrid past few seasons with injury and after being shown the door at Walkers Stadium, is looking to reignite his career in the white shirts of Leeds in England's League One.

The 28-year old was selected in next week's friendly against the Republic of Ireland in Limerick and was delighted with such great news.

"There's the World Cup campaign next year, hopefully I can be part of that and hopefully what I can do for Leeds can translate into the Socceroos," said Kisnorbo.

"I'm just glad to be back in the Socceroos, especially after last year, it's been so disappointing through injury and not playing as much as I would have liked to at Leicester.

"It's a big confidence booster."

Kisnorbo also added that he was honoured to be signed by a club such as Leeds and was determined to help them rise back up the ranks.

"At a club like this there's always expectation no matter what division you're in," added Kisnorbo.

"If you want to be at the top this is a starting point and hopefully that pressure can push us in a positive direction and we can get promoted.

"Hopefully I can do well for the club and get the club where it's supposed to be."
