Kingston joined Hearts in January 2007 and has become a popular player despite the team's lack of success.Terek Grozny but signed a permanent deal last summer and has two years left to run on his contract.

There could be a host of changes at Hearts this summer, with a manager due to be appointed by owner Vladimir Romanov, and Kingston wants a central role in the club's future.

He said on Hearts' official website, "I love Hearts and want to give everything I have for this club.

"In fact, I would be very happy to stay for the rest of my career at Hearts; retire here.

"I am still young but if I have to stay here to the end of my career, I'd be happy to do so."
