King's extra-time winner hands Bournemouth victory over Brighton

Joshua King scored the winner in extra-time as Bournemouth beat Brighton to advance to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

The two teams met on Friday night as the Cherries picked up their first points of the season with a 2-1 win.

But with 19 changes to both teams from their Premier League clash, the game lacked a distinct amount of quality.

Junior Stanislas should have won it for Eddie Howe's side when he missed an absolute sitter in normal time.

King saved his teammates blushes when he combined with Marc Pugh before slotting past Tim Krul nine minutes into extra-time.
