King: FA Cup progress can boost flailing Leicester season

Andy King is hoping Leicester City's solid form in the FA Cup can give them the impetus to turn their Premier League woes around.

The reigning English champions find themselves sitting 16th on the table, just a point above the relegation zone, but their progress into the fifth round of the cup, courtesy of tonight's 3-1 win over Midlands rivals Derby County, can boost morale.

King, who scored Leicester's opening goal at the King Power Stadium, told BBC 1: "It was important to get a win tonight to try and kick-start some form to take into the league.

"It's been a tough few weeks for us and we've taken a lot of criticism but I think tonight shows the fight that's we've got in the squad.

"Hopefully this run can kick-start it (our season).

"We've got 14 massive games in the league. We've come through a couple of rounds in the cup now so why can't we make another journey out of that this season?"
