King convinced Tottenham can break top four

The White Hart Lane outfit are being tipped to upset the pecking order in the upper echelons of the Premier League and break the monopoly of the current top four.

Spurs boss Martin Jol has again been busy in the transfer market as he looks to bolster his squad, with the likes of Darren Bent, Gareth Bale, Younes Kaboul and Kevin-Prince Boateng all arriving in North London this summer.

Having finished in fifth place in each of the past two seasons, King believes they have the squad ready to challenge the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Speaking at the Premier League's 'Creating Chances' launch, King told skysports.com that the Tottenham squad are aiming to finish in the top four.

"I think with the squad we have got it is a chance (to break into the top four) this season," King told skysports.com.

"It is our first real chance to do that.

"That is what our aim and focus is on achieving this season."

King has been impressed by the new recruits at White Hart Lane and he says the confidence is high for a successful campaign.

"Everything is going well," added King. "The team spirit is great, we have a young squad but we have experience.

"Everyone has settled in fine and we are looking forward to the new season."
