Kilmarnock striker Kyle to work on fitness

Kilmarnock striker Kevin Kyle has vowed to improve his fitness levels after an injury-hit season to date. The former Coventry striker underwent a fitness test at Glasgow University and hopes the results will help pinpoint where he is lacking.

The 28-year-old believes strengthening his legs will improve his fitness as he is desperate to help Kilmarnock climb the SPL table.

"I don't feel as sharp as last season. It's been stop-start for me," explained Kyle.

"Maybe I'm picking up wee knocks because I'm not as fit as last time.

"But hopefully I can get back to last season's form and start doing the business again now I've had all those tests.

"In training and games I feel fine but sometimes I'm finding it harder to get back after making a run.

"But if I had more power in my legs I'd get back no bother.

"I'm going to work on everything as I want to be as fit as I can be."
