Kilmarnock plotting return of Eremenko

Kilmarnock are looking at bringing Russian-born Finnish midfielder Alexei Eremenko back to the club following his impressive loan spell at Rugby Park back in 2010/11.

The 30-year old is available as a free agent after a recent spell in Kazakhstan with FC Kairat Almaty where he played under Vladimir Weiss who is the father of the former Rangers loanee of the same name.

"We're interested in a lot of players and he (Eremenko) is definitely one we are interested in. I think he is coming in later on in the week," Killie boss Allan Johnston said.

"Obviously he is a quality player and you are trying to bring in players that are going to make a difference to your squad. We will take our time and hopefully get it sorted. Time will tell."

During his career, Finland international Eremenko has also played with HJK Helsinki, US Lecce, FC Saturn, Metalist Kharkiv and Rubin Kazan.
