Kilmarnock and Hibernian bosses in unison after fan death postpones game
Referee Kevin Clancy stopped the match at Rugby Park when the scores was 1-1 after a fan collapsed because of a heart attack in the East Stand five minutes into the second half of the game.
It has since been confirmed that the supporter died in hospital with both managers saying concurring that it was certainly the right decision to make.
"Obviously it was quite serious so Pat Fenlon and I both agreed that the game should be abandoned," Shiels said.
"We need to show respect to the relevant families. Football is not as important as human life so we have shown our respect."
