Kilkenny explains his leaving Leeds for Bristol

Bristol City have signed Australia international Neil Kilkenny from Leeds after his deal at Elland Road expired. The 25-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year deal, and told Sky Sports: "I did have offers from other clubs, but once I spoke to the gaffer my mind was made up to come to Bristol City."

He added: "They have a lot of exciting plans for the future, including moving to a new stadium and it will be good to be part of that.

"I was impressed by what the manager had to say and he worked hard to get me to sign. I believe we can challenge for promotion as it was only two years ago the team was in the play-off final and I will do my best to help the team be successful."

On leaving Leeds, he added: "I was sad to leave Leeds as they have great people around the club and the fans have been brilliant to me. These things happen in football and you have to move on."
