Former Wolves winger Michael Kightly is happy with his move to Stoke City.

Kightly says he opted for the short trip north to Stoke after turning his back on other interest in his services.

"I believe there was a bit of interest from a few other clubs, but I felt Stoke City were an established Premier League club and they are not far from where I live in Birmingham.

"But the main factor for me is that the club is on the up.

"It's a new era at Wolves because of the new manager coming in and I felt I needed a new era myself. I needed a fresh challenge to freshen things up for myself."
