Former Wolves winger Michael Kightly is confident of a warm welcome to Stoke City.

Kightly laughed off an on-field spat with Matthew Etherington last season during the game between Stoke and Wolves at the Brit last season after revealing the two already know each other away from football.

"It was a heat-of-the-moment thing. It was just two players passionate about playing football and wanting to win," he recalled to The Sentinel.

"I've known Matty for a few years through mutual friends, and you never hold any grudges over those kind of things."
