Kiely: Keeper signings proof of West Brom on the up

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper coach Dean Kiely says the quality of the shot-stoppers they've signed is proof of a club on the up.

The Baggies snapped up loanee Ben Foster to replace fellow international Scott Carson for this season and Kiely believes the pair have proved the club are raising standards.

"The fact that Scott Carson and Ben Foster have been the West Brom goalkeepers in recent years shows the progression that has been made," said Kiely in the Express & Star.

"I've been involved in conversations over the past couple of years over potential signing and I've drawn up lists and been to watch games to do reconnaissance on goalkeepers and potential targets and they are all very good. They are in the top bracket and to see Scott Carson and Ben Foster in a West Brom shirt is great. The fans and everyone connected with the club should look and think the club is going in the right direction because that's a hell of a standard."
