Kidd insists players not at Man City for money

Manchester City No2 Brian Kidd insists money isn't a factor for their title-winning squad.

Kidd, 62, believes that the players transformed into champions by Mancini have proved beyond any doubt that they are not just here for the money.

He said: "People have constantly been lining up taking cheap shots at us this season. In fact, I honestly can't believe some of the rubbish that has been said about the spirit and camaraderie here.

"But the people who question the spirit here are outsiders. They don't know anything about Manchester City. This is our family. And like all good families there is the odd argument.

"But fights and arguments take place every single day at every football club in the country.

"I can't give an opinion about what's going on at Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United or Sunderland or Newcastle or Crewe, or even Crawley Town. Because I don't know what's going on at those clubs.

"So I don't understand why people outside Manchester City feel the need to be so judgmental about us.

"But the lads answered all the criticism they've had in those last five minutes against QPR.

"A legacy in football isn't about how much money you have got.

"When the players we've got here finish their careers the only thing they will want to talk about is what they've won."
