Kia Joorabchian has detailed how he managed to get Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez to West Ham United.

Mascherano is now with Liverpool, while Kia also takes care of Tevez at Manchester City.

On the dramatic West Ham move, he told TalkSport: "Football is a funny sport because a player might sit on the bench throughout six months and then suddenly come out and in a game, transform his entire career.

"For us, I always believe in every single player I get involved with. I have to have that belief otherwise there's no point in getting involved and we believed very much in both Carlos and Javi when they first came over and I think that Javi's was an amazing story.

"Six months after he couldn't even get into the squad at West Ham he was playing in the Champions League final so someone like Rafa Benitez had followed Javi since he's been 17, 18. Had tracked him throughout the time Rafa was in Valencia and knew his qualities. If you have great players like Mascherano, like Carlos, then they will always shine eventually."
