Ki Sung-Yeung: Sunderland will play me to my strengths

Ki Sung-Yeung is confident Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio will play to his strengths this season.

The Swansea City midfielder has joined on a season-long loan.

Ki told the Sunderland Echo: "I'm very pleased to join Sunderland and also I heard a lot of good things about them, so I'm looking forward to playing football with them.

"I know that the manager has done interviews in which he has said good things about me, which gives me a lot of confidence.

"When I was a kid, I saw him playing and I'm really looking forward to working with him as a manager of this team."

On leaving Swansea, he added: "We won the cup and did well in the league and I wanted to show my quality to the people, but I didn't get the chance this season to show my quality.

"So I've had to move to a club that wants me to show my quality.

"Always there's pressure on the new boys, but I have to stay calm and show what I can do.

"The reason I have moved here is to play for Sunderland, show my quality and hopefully score goals. I really want to enjoy it."
