Harry Kewell's immediate future with Galatasaray looks safe after the Turkish club let go of Congolese striker Shabani Nonda. Gala' manager Frank Rijkaard had made it clear that either Kewell or Nonda were to go with the influx of foreigners at the Istanbul club pushing to nine players after Giovani dos Santos joined on loan from Tottenham.
The decision was made with 32-year old Blackburn Rovers attacker Nonda being released on a free transfer, indicating Kewell will remain with the club until at least the end of the season.
Kewell is currently in Sydney seeing specialists to try and learn more about his ongoing groin injury which threatens to derail his World Cup preparations.
