The recurrence of a groin injury sustained by Australian national team star Harry Kewell is not as bad as initially feared.
Football Federation Australia have confirmed that the Galatasaray striker/winger did hurt his groin but that the problem is not severe enough to keep him out of the World Cup as some recent reports suggested.
"Reports that Harry Kewell will not be available for the FIFA World Cup are premature," an FFA spokesman said on Saturday.
"FFA can confirm that Kewell did suffer a minor reoccurrence of his groin injury a week ago.
"FFA medical staff are with Kewell in Turkey and are working with him daily."
Despite the injury, Kewell will be selected by head coach Pim Verbeek for the Socceroos' provisional 27-man squad on Tuesday and is also likely to be named in the final 23 to go to South Africa.
