Kewell admits Australia needs something more

Harry Kewell believes the Socceroo need something more if they are to be competitive in the World Cup next year. Following a lacklustre 0-0 draw against Holland in Sydney on Saturday night, Kewell admitted that all the Australians could do was toil and try to keep the Dutch away from goal and that must change if they are going to be a serious threat in South Africa.

"We played a world-class team and I think it showed," Kewell said. "I think we worked hard and that's all we could really do.

"They're third in the world and I think it showed. Now we can really put our heads down and realise that it's not going to be easy and (these are) the teams you will play in a World Cup.

"It showed that we're not ready yet.

"We held the third-best team in the world to a nil-all draw and I thought right at the end there, we could have snatched it," he added.

"We held them out quite well, but maybe just up front we need a little bit more."
