Martin Keown rates Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen in the class of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic.
The former Gunners defender says Vermaelen's injury problems have wrecked their title chances.
Keown told The Sun: "He's Arsenal's Nemanja Vidic. If you take him out of Manchester United's team then you see weakness.
"I think Laurent Koscielny is one for the future - I'd like to see him be more dominant and more vocal but I think that comes when you feel more comfortable in your surroundings.
"It's his first season. Vermaelen last year was outstanding. So ultimately, I think Arsenal have two decent central defenders there."
