Keown unsurprised Man Utd, Everton keen on Sheffield Utd defender Maguire

Arsenal hero Martin Keown isn't surprised by the transfer interest around Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire.

Keown wrote in the Daily Mail: "Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle have all looked at him, and while there has been talk of a big-money move, Joleon Lescott played for six seasons at Wolves before he moved to Everton.

"Maguire was his club's player of the year when he was just 19 and he has already played more than 150 games. He is 6ft 4in and well-built, he distributes the ball well and he has a good diagonal pass in his locker.

"He could play at a higher level than League One but I'm sure Nigel Clough will want to keep him as the cornerstone of his defence as they look to move up through the divisions."
