Martin Keown feels Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will regret turning his back on England.

The ex-Arsenal defender questioned his wisdom in flying to Doha for TV work, saying he thinks there is no way back for Ferdinand now.

Keown told the Daily Star Sunday: "I think he's probably already regretting his decision.

"He must be under a great deal of pressure from Sir Alex Ferguson with his contract situation.

"He hasn't retired from international football but I can't see a way back for him now. Certainly when he's flying across the world to do a TV programme you wonder is that really good for his back. "
