Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown says Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany had Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney in his pocket for Monday's win. Kompany even managed to score the only goal of the game.
Keown wrote in the Daily Mail: "Wayne Rooney is the main danger for United but Kompany went after him without fear. He shut the defensive door as if to say, 'You ain't coming in here'. It was done in a very physical way. Rooney is not someone you can bully but it was as if Kompany was swatting him away.
"He didn't change his approach even though he was booked as he was so confident that he could keep making those clean tackles. After his red card in the FA Cup, it was like he had unfinished business."
