Former Everton defender Martin Keown has praised manager David Moyes over his winter market business.
Keown believes the arrival of Landon Donovan and Darron Gibson could provide the catalyst for Everton to flourish in the second half of the season.
"Perhaps what he needs is a manager that trusts him. David Moyes is very astute, very good at picking up players who come in and do a good job for him. We'll watch that one with interest."
As for Donovan, Keown was not surprised to see the American hit the ground running following the start of his second loan spell at the Club.
"With Donovan they are getting someone back they trust and the manager knows what he's capable of," he added. "He'll quickly pick up the reins because he's already done it. We'll have to see, I think he's a good player actually so that's a good addition. I think from an Everton point of view it's just a case of picking up their form." "I thought Gibson was one that looked a decent player," Keown told evertonfc.com. "He shoots from distance. He's always been a busy little player. He almost looked like a miniature Roy Keane, which is high praise indeed, but never quite fulfilled that.
