Keown: England should've hooked Man Utd's Rooney - not Welbeck

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown feels England coach Roy Hodgson got his substitutions wrong for last night's Euros elimination. Keown wrote in the Daily Mail: "I was disappointed to see Danny Welbeck substituted after an hour. He was playing with such maturity. Andy Carroll did well when he came on, but Wayne Rooney's legs seemed to have gone and Carroll was left chasing his own flicks.

"I'd have preferred Roy Hodgson to wait a little longer, withdraw Rooney and partner Carroll with Welbeck, who was looking sharp."
