Chelsea chief Peter Kenyon has promised fans major squad surgery for next season.
Admitting recent results have been "disappointing" he predicted plenty of transfer activity despite the need to cut costs.
"I think we'll be pretty busy in the summer, but that's the right time to be busy," he said.
"I'm not worried about signing players in January. If you talk about players such as Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho and Didier Drogba, that kind of quality is not available in January."
