Everton chairman Bill Kenwright says he can sympathise with protesting fans.

Kenwright, who has been the target for much of the criticism from the group, said he sympathised with their intentions.

"Everyone has a right to protest if they want to protest - that is the only response I can give," he said.

"There is no bigger Everton fan than me and indeed when I met some of these gentlemen I said 'What are you protesting for?', and they want an owner with much more money than the three major shareholders here.

"I absolutely support them on that because that is exactly what I want and that is what I spend most of my life working on."
