The LA Galaxy have hired Kenny Arena as an assistant coach ahead of the 2014 MLS season.
The 32-year old son of head coach Bruce Arena joins the Galaxy after spending the past two years as head coach of the Florida International University.
Of the former Galaxy Academy head coach, Arena Snr said: "We are pleased to add Kenny to our coaching staff.
"Kenny's familiarity with the Galaxy, experience in player development and his knowledge of the college game make him a good fit for our club."
During his playing career as a defender, Arena Jnr represented the USA U20 national team on more than 20 occasions and also spent time with MetroStars (now New York Red Bulls) and DC United.
