Australian striker Josh Kennedy netted the most important goal of his short career in Japan. Nagoya Grampus were down 2-1 from the first leg of their Asian Champions League quarter-final against J-League rivals Kawasaki Frontale, but came out firing at the Mizuho Stadium.

Ogawa Yoshizumi opened the scoring for the home side to level the overall score at 2-2 before Maya Yoshida but Grampus ahead ten minutes before half-time.

The lead only lasted three minutes, however, as Kawasaki's Chong Tese made it 2-1 on the evening, making the aggregate 3-3.

Enter Kennedy who netted with two minutes remaining to enable Grampus to qualify for the semi-finals and maintain his brilliant scoring record (7 goals in 11 games) since arriving in Japan.
