If it wasn't for Ben Kennedy, things could be much different for the Newcastle Jets this season.
The second-bottom Jets somehow have the equal-best defensive record in the competition, conceding just six goals in nine matches, and a lot of it has to do with the form of goalkeeper Kennedy.
The 23-year old has overcome a shaky start to his A-League career by becoming one of the most consistent performers with the gloves this season and it is a wonder that the Jets have only saluted once although Kennedy has kept five clean sheets, the second most on the league.
Kennedy's performance in Saturday night's 1-1 draw with the Brisbane Roar enabled the Jets to take a point home from Suncorp Stadium whereas a lesser shot-stopper may have faltered under such pressure and handed victory to the opposition.
