Kennedy delighted to sign new Chivas USA deal

Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy has signed a new contract with Chivas USA.

The 30-year old club captain has committed to the Goats until at least 2016 and says he is excited about the direction the club is taking.

"I said before that we have this new era and, with all of this change this offseason, there would still be great opportunity here," Kennedy told reporters.

"I truly believe that. I'm excited to be a part of that.

"We have a long way to go, but I do feel that with all the changes that have been made we're taking steps in the right direction.

"Through my time here and in the future, I'm going to give it all I have to continue going in that direction and become champions on the field and off the field."

Kennedy joined Chivas from Chliean outfit Municipal Iquique in 2008 and has since appeared in 88 MLS games for the Los Angeles club.
