Former Everton boss Howard Kendall expects revenge to be achieved on Monday against Alan Pardew's Newcastle United.
Kendall wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "Ultimately Pardew will probably regret saying his club were in a different league from Everton.
"I cannot understand managers coming out with statements like that because it only motivates the opposition.
"David Moyes could have printed off those comments, pinned them up on the changing room wall in Goodison and allow them to do his team talk for him. As Jagielka reminded us, players have long memories when it comes to being slated so let's hope it motivates them again."
