Kendall insists Dalglish can succeed at Liverpool

Howard Kendall has no doubts Kenny Dalglish can succeed at Liverpool second time around.

Kendall's similar attempt at Everton didn't work out for the Goodison legend.

But he told the Sunday Mirror: "Times have changed in football, even in the 10 years since Kenny was last in management, but he is nobody's fool.

"People say you should never go back, but I can tell you from what happened with me at Everton that when the club you love asks you for help then it is impossible to turn them down.

"I had no regrets about going back to Everton when I did, even though things didn't work out like they did when I was in charge the first time around.

"We had a lot of success in the 1980s and, of course, the aim was to try and recreate that.

"OK, it didn't happen for me, but I wouldn't bet against Kenny turning things around at Anfield. I know what kind of man he is - a winner.

"Kenny can succeed at Liverpool. But he will need time and patience to get it right - and he will need the support of the owners."
