Kelvin Davis lands 'interesting' Southampton role

Southampton legend Kelvin Davis has been appointed the club's new Football Development Executive.

Following a decade long stay at Southampton, Davis decided to hang up his gloves at the end of last season.

It can now be revealed that the 39-year-old former goalkeeper will be joining the backroom staff at St Mary's after being appointed the Saints' new Football Development Executive and he will be tasked with the job of supporting the first team, as well as the youth team, and also acting as the club's ambassador.

Speaking regarding his new role, Davis said: "It is a very interesting role and it's one I'm very excited about.

"Being at the club for as long as I have and with the experience I've picked up, it's important to pass that on to the younger players as they make their way towards the first team."
