Birmingham City fullback Stephen Kelly is confident they can hold their own in the Premiership.

"The Premier League is not new to me as I played in 28 games the season before I joined Birmingham," said the former Tottenham defender. "It was a great season and now I know what is expected of me in this division and I hope to deliver and progress. The reason why I came to Birmingham was to play in the Premier League.

"The aim was to get up in one season and that is what I've done and now it is a case of continuing this progress.

"I think we can do well. We have a young, talented squad and everyone is looking forward to the Premier League. There is a good mix and we have something to prove. Other teams are going to be surprised by Birmingham."
