Kelechi Iheanacho Man City move back on as agents rescue deal

Manchester City could announce the signing of Nigerian U17 World Cup star Kelechi Iheanacho this week.

A move to City appeared to have collapsed last week after comments from officials of the Taye Academy suggested the Iheanacho family had been left non-plussed by the Premier League giants' contract terms.

However, agents have been scrambling in the past 48 hours to rescue the deal and a source close to the player's camp told MTNFootball.com: "Both the agents in the US and those in London are now co-operating to get visas to the UK for the Iheanachos so that they meet with Manchester City officials on the contract they have signed.

"You could therefore say the transfer is back on track."

A deal with City has already been inked in Madrid, where City chief scout Gary Worthington was in attendance.

Talk of Iheanacho going to Porto or Benfica now appears wide of the mark, with City hoping to close and announce an agreement by the weekend.
