Keeper Begovic sees positive signs with Chelsea boss Conte

Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic believes new boss Antonio Conte is leading the Blues back into the right direction.

Begovic is confident the former Italy and Juventus manager is the right man to bring success back to Chelsea, saying Conte's tactical work was evident to see in the 1-0 win against Liverpool in California.

"We had worked on our shape for a few days and it was nice to see that working well for us, nice that everyone stuck together and worked for each other and did our jobs when we needed to," Begovic told Chelsea's official website.

"It was a good team effort today. We showed a good team spirit and togetherness, some of our quality could have been better but we're heading in the right direction for sure.

"The conditions were pretty tough and I think jet lag still plays a part too. I think Liverpool have had a couple of extra days here to get used to it, so I think it was a good effort considering.

"There was a good atmosphere and I think that helps get you through. We did the little things well and it gives us a good base to build on."
