Kevin Keegan says his great Newcastle United team of 1995/96 will be forgotten by fans.
"In twenty years time people will not remember that Newcastle team," Keegan told setanta sports. "They would have done if they won things. But in twenty years people will look at the record books and we won't be there.
"Just like I'm down in the record books as the European Footballer of the Year for the two times I won it. I'm not down there for 1977 when I came second to Allan Simonsen."
Keegan added: "If we had won the title that year we would have changed football. We challenged teams to beat us by playing football.
"No one thought you could play football like we did, but Manchester United were the only ones who could match us."
