Roy Keane admits Sunderland must rip up their wage structure if they're to build on this season's survival campaign.

"I know for a fact we pay nowhere near what teams near here pay," said Keane.

"Look at players who have been at Newcastle and Middlesbrough over the last few years. I don't think Michael Owen is getting 20 grand a week.

"If you want top players, you have to pay them. We want to be in that market."
