Keane hints at Sunderland departures

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has hinted that three players may be leaving the club before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

Keane has added Jonny Evans, Jean-Yves M'voto, Phil Bardsley and Rade Prica to his squad this month but is willing to let Hungarian goalkeeper Marton Fulop leave the Stadium of Light.

The Sunderland manager told the Black Cats' official website: "Darren Ward spoke to Rangers last week but decided he didn't want to go there.

"He's back here and looking to be involved against Birmingham.

"There are plenty of clubs wanting to take Marton Fulop on loan and that's something we'll decide in the next 48 hours.

"Wardy has a slight groin injury so we'll decide on Marton after the Birmingham game. We're weighing up the options.

"I think there could be two or three departures this week but there's no mad rush because a few of the clubs involved are from the Championship, so there's no deadline in terms of January.

"I expect one or two to move on by the end of the week. The bottom line is that it's got to suit the player."
