Kean told he must sell to buy at Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has been told he must sell to buy in January.

The Sun says Kean has been told by the board there will be no transfer war-chest, so any major shake-up of his squad will need to be funded by selling.

That means players such as Chris Samba, Junior Hoilett or Steven Nzonzi could follow Jones out of the exit door if Kean wants to fulfil his ambition to bring in Andy Johnson, Nedum Onuoha or Chris Gunter from his wish-list.

It is the latest blow in Rovers' traumatic season which began with them trying to pick up the pieces from Jones' £16.5million departure.
