Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is eager for transfer talks with the club's owners.

Kean wants talks to find out about the kind of funds he can expect in January - with a central midfielder at the top of his wish-list.

He said: "I didn't meet the owners in the end. I've spoken with them on the phone since that game.

"We need a good sit down to discuss the plans going into the transfer window. We've always had funds, maybe less than people thought.

"I'm hoping for an early indication of what we've got to spend and I think we'll do our business in the early part of the window."
