Kashima coach got expected result against Singapore Armed Forces

Kashima Antlers came to Singapore with a win in mind and got the job done to keep their Asian Champions League hopes alive.

The Japanese club accounted for SAFFC 4-1 which was a pleasing result for coach Oswaldo de Oliveira.

"We came here to win against the weakest team in the group and we got the three points," said the Brazilian.

"We now have to think of winning again in the return game in Japan in two weeks' time as my immediate goal is qualification for the next round.

"Tonight, SAF FC played as they played in their other two games," de Oliveira added.

"They gave up their defensive system after half-time and that gave us more space to attack. We could have scored some more goals.

"I am satisfied with how my team performed. Barring any serious injury, I am going to have the same starting line-up in the next game."

Kashima are now on six points from three matches along with Shanghai Shenhua and Suwon Bluewings, making an interesting battle for progressing to the next round.
