Kasey Keller backs Hodgson for Leicester job

Ex-Fulham goalkeeper Kasey Keller believes that Roy Hodgson would be a good choice to replace Claudio Ranieri as the manager of Leicester City.

Leicester made a shock decision to dispense with the services of Ranieri last week and it has been mentioned in some media outlets that the Foxes hierarchy are considering replacing the popular Italian with ex-England boss Hodgson.

Talks between Leicester and Hodgson are believed to have already commenced and former Cottagers keeper Keller has explained how the 69-year-old could prove to be a very good appointment for the struggling Foxes.

The American told talkSPORT: "Roy is a very honest individual - you know where you stand from day one. He is also a manager that is willing to change his mind.

"He comes in with a very sensible game plan, he is willing to make adjustments, but he also comes in with an unbelievable wealth of experience. There is great reason why he has been as successful as he has for so many years years.

"Obviously, a lot of England fans were disappointed with the European Championship. But if you are a Leicester fan and thinking the Leicester ownership are looking at Roy Hodgson, you are looking at a man that has been able to pull teams out of the relegation zone.

"He has got teams to overachieve. Look at what Fulham did, look at what West Brom did, when he was in charge of them.

"He is a guy that comes with a great pedigree. Every manager who has been in the game as long as Roy Hodgson has is going to have situations where it worked and situations where it didn't, but he has had far more that worked than didn't."
