Real Madrid No2 Aitor Karanka says they're delighted with Luka Modric's arrival.

The former Tottenham midfielder made his debut in Real's Supercopa win over Barcelona.

Karanka said: "Luka is super confident and is keen to both train and play. For the team it is vital that new players join the squad with this hunger to play and win. In the future we expect him to earn a first team place and be an important player for us."
