Real Madrid No2 Aitor Karanka says everyone at the club is behind Karim Benzema. The French striker struck the winner in the Copa victory over Sevilla this week.
However, he is again under pressure following the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.
"We've supported Karim from the very beginning," Karanka told the club's official website. "The hug the coach [Jose Mourinho] gave him after the goal is very significant. Benzema feels everyone's support and he is an important player on this team.
"We won and earned an important advantage for the return leg. Winning 1-0 meant at times that we could end up winning 3-0 or drawing 1-1, so the score is good but not decisive. The Bernabeu crowd will support us on Wednesday. We've taken an important step."
